June 2017

June 26: Take Me To Church is Certified Platinum in France.

June 22: Like Real People Do was featured as the music for husband and wife dance team Keone & Mari Madrid on NBC’s World of Dance. This duo choreographed music videos including Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself and Flying Lotus’ Never Catch Me ft. Kendrick Lamar, which received an MTV Video Music Awards nomination.

June 20: Bid on a Hozier signed Takamine P3NY acoustic guitar. This is the model of his go-to acoustic guitar that he uses for Cherry Wine and others. (We nicknamed his Nina.)

The charity auction is for the John Varvatos Stuart House Benefit, an all-in-one support facility to help child victims of rape and sexual assault. Bidding is open until June 28, 2017.

May 2017

May 27: After 131 weeks on the Billboard charts, this was the final week for Hozier on the Top 200 Albums chart, exiting at #186. The album peaked at #2 on October 25, 2014.

Take Me To Church left the Rock Streaming Songs Chart (top 25) on April 8, 2017, also after 131 weeks. The song held the #1 position from November 8, 2014

According to Billboard in February 2017, Take Me To Church had held a record for spending 23 weeks at #1 on their Hot Rock Songs chart, tying Hozier for 3rd position in that ranking.

And, Hozier continues to hold the #9 position on the Shazam Hall of Fame chart for all-time searches.

Rockin’ The Roses Benefit for Bread & Roses

May 18: Hozier performed a 45-minute acoustic set as the headliner at the Rockin’ The Roses Benefit in San Francisco. We have the full highlights, including exclusive full-length live videos for his performances of The Parting Glass and his cover of Sweet Thing by Van Morrison.

Winston House Appearance

May 4: Hozier is in Los Angeles in advance of his upcoming charity gig for Bread & Roses in San Francisco. He popped up at Winston House in Venice, CA for an intimate performance of To Be Alone.

Telecaster

Hozier played a Fender Pro Telecaster, on loan from Danny Schnair of Columbia label-mates, Frenship. Hozier doesn’t have a Tele in his collection, so it was good to finally see him play one.

Flavia

Hozier’s high school friend, Flavia, played a set at Winston House and it was at her behest that he got up to do a song. What are friends for?

Apr 7: Hozier was the surprise guest at a fundraiser for the Wicklow Hospice Foundation that took place in Newtownmountkennedy. He performed a short acoustic set including To Be AloneFrom Eden, and Take Me To Church.

Apr 7: Chart update: Amazingly, Hozier’s album is #6 on the Billboard Americana/Folk album chart this week after 92 weeks on the chart.
