Hozier launched his #FaceUpToDomesticViolence campaign this week. All proceeds from the iTunes download of Cherry Wine go to help 22 charities around the world working to aid and support victims of domestic abuse and domestic violence.

Awards

Last year Hozier won an iHeart Music Award for Alternative Rock Song of the Year for TMTC. He’s been nominated this year for Best New Artist. The awards are April 3, 2016.

Hozier was nominated for four Hot Press Awards. Voting closed 13 February.

Voting is still open for the Choice Music Prize where Hozier is nominated for Song of the Year for Someone New.


Appearances

Hozier appeared on the Thursday night broadcast of Sanremo 2016. This multi-night singing competition draws more than 10 million viewers in Italy each night. Gigs

There were no headline gigs this week. Hozier will start the last two weeks of the tour in Berlin on 19 February with Rhodes opening.

Saint Sister

Saint Sister were shortlisted for Most Promising and Best Track for the 2016 Hotties. Other Voices released a fabulous video  of Saint Sister performing Cold Feet in Dingle.  Unfortunately, viewership is restricted from many countries. Fans in London can watch Saint Sister for free at The Islington on May 18, 2016.  Taking advantage of their producer’s short break from Hozier, the duo spent part of the week recording a few demos with Alex Ryan in Kerry.

Little Green Cars

Little Green Cars’ new single Easier Day was released featuring the amazing Faye O’Rourke on lead vocals. The band was also in London last week playing at the Hoxton and Stevie and Adam did an interview with Phoenix 98 FM.

Wyvern Lingo

Wyvern Lingo have announced a 3 shows in Galway, Cork and Dublin, as well as a show in London on 21 May.
